Not Just for Biscuits: 10 Ways to Jam Out with our Signature Blueberry Compote

There’s no better feeling than when your Tupelo server arrives at your table with a plate of scratch-made buttermilk biscuits. The accompaniment? Our signature blueberry compote. It’s a staple of our restaurants – made fresh every day, in-house. Adults rave about it. Babies coat their pacifiers with it. It’s the portion of the meal that makes you smile from ear to ear, and you can even take that smile home with you by purchasing a jar in our store! Here are some of our favorite uses for our cult-like jam, other than spreading it on a biscuit:

1. Layer a cake. Make a lemon cake with blueberry jam layers. A classic combination!

2. Whip up a fruit pastry. We’re talking homemade pop-tarts with REAL fruit filling, like this one from Food Network.

3. Spread it on a PB&J. Chunky or creamy? You decide. As long as it’s got the jam.

4. Glaze ribs, chicken, ham or brisket. Our Blueberry Chipotle Flank Steak recipe is a great reason to break out the grill!

5. Add it to a charcuterie board. Don’t forget the cheeses, crackers and nuts.

6. Bake thumbprint cookies. Use our jam as the filling, of course! Check out this recipe from Serious Eats.

7. Swirl into yogurt or oatmeal. Use plain yogurt or rolled oats for a healthier version – the jam itself will be plenty of sweetener.

8. Make a salad dressing. Try this vinaigrette from Living Home Grown!

9. Top it on an ice cream sundae. Add bananas, strawberries and raspberries for a truly fruity dessert!

10. Concoct a blueberry-infused lemonade. This recipe from Momtastic is quick, easy and sure to please the kiddos.
