  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Spiced Pecans (recipe follows), chopped

Spiced Pecans

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Spiced Pecan Butter Cookies

Our spiced pecans are a staple in our Tupelo Honey pantry, since we use them atop our sweet potato pancakes. This recipe uses them in a silky, buttery cookie.

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 375 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium  bowl. Place the butter and both sugars in a medium mixing bowl, beating at medium speed with an electric mixer until well blended. Add the egg, honey, and vanilla and beat until thoroughly combined. Stir in the flour mixture and the Spiced Pecans until well blended.

Drop the dough, in batches, by rounded teaspoons on to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown. Let the cookies cool on a wire rack and enjoy.

INSTRUCTIONS

In a bowl, mix the honey, cayenne, and salt. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the honey mixture and the pecans and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned and caramelized. Remove from the heat, cool, and store in an airtight container.
